New Star Financial Management

New Star Financial ManagementTara at New Star Financial Management wanted a website that showed potential and existing customers, exactly how New Star could help them. One that would easily portray what services are provided and that they are fully aware of the fact that clients need advice as well as solutions.

We also designed a Facebook page for New Star FM where Tara keeps clients informed of happenings in the financial world that could affect them and their money. We integrated both the website and facebook page to display the most recent postings on the website.

Gallen Community School

Gallen Community School FerbaneThis secondary school is situated in the town of Ferbane. In September 2010 they moved into a fabulous new building marking a new chapter in the life of the school. It is a very progressive school with All Ireland success in it’s first two years of the new school in the form of Gaelic Football Senior Community School title 2011 and All Ireland Champions in the Ballad Group Section of the Scór na nÓg 2012.

Keen to compliment their state of the art modern school with a website solution to communicate with parents and students, they approached us here at Optimum and entrusted us with helping them realise their goals and objectives for the project.

Scrolling News Updates

Principal John Irwin and Vice Principal Ursula Finnegan both identified the need to keep parents informed of the busy schedule of events that take place on a weekly basis during and after school hours. This was achieved by using a scrolling news update section to appear sitewide as well as a single page version to see all weekly events at once.

The software used for this site is WordPress which John and Ursula are delighted with as they can easily keep the site updated on their own terms and to  fit in with their own schedule.

Announcements and news dynamically linking onto homepage, each section (beavers, cubs, scouts and ventures) could post their own and have the latest one appear on the home page automatically. Councillor John Leahy

John Leahy CouncillorJohn Leahy is an Independent Councillor with Offaly County Council. John has presented himself as a candidate for Laois/Offaly in the general election 2011.

John had promised his constituents in the run up to the local elections in June ’09 that if elected he would be accountable for his workings as a Public Representative. To this end he produced a brochure of his record to date.

This publication also coincided with the general election of 2011. John wished to have a website that would display his record to date, outline some of the issues and concerns he was hearing about from his constituents. This website is also to provide a platform for information during the general election campaign.

Midland Angling

The website midlandangling.com began as an idea early in 2010. Increased queries and requests for information on fishing competitions, fishing reports, indeed all things fishing led Mick Flanagan of Midland Angling to approach us in relation to providing this information from a website.

Genuine Content

Mick wanted to start with reports and competition dates from the midlands and knew that he could manage to supply reports on a weekly basis. This, he was sure of because he already wrote a weekly fishing column for the Topic Group of newsapers in the midlands, a monthly feature in the Irish Angler (Ireland’s top angling magazine) as well as a weekly column in the Sunday World. Here Optimum recognised that Mick had something genuine to offer to visitors and just as important, would be capable of delivering it.

Scalable Plan

Mick felt that there was no other angling website offering regional updates on a regular basis and that there might also be a gap in the market for a more nationwide approach. We identified that if there was to be a national theme to the site that there would be a consideral amount of additional time required to run the site. So it was decided to make the midland reports the solid foundation where visitors could learn to trust that regular updates, would arrive on the site, by the same day (wednesday) each week. This trust has resulted in a very steady increase in visitors and offering of additional national information.

Optimum’s Role

Optimum felt that this was a very worthwhile project that would provide genuine information, would give value to visitors, be updated regularly and had the potential to grow steadily. To cover the cost of the additional work that would be required to expand and maintain the site to a level that could incorporate the national information, we suggest the inclusion of advertising areas on the site. This has been successful in helping to cover the running costs of the site. Display type banner and button ads with full backend management, statistics and automatic end dates, future scheduling etc. made this an easy to run option. Search engine optimisation has also been carried out and continues to be.

We wish Midland Angling well and tight lines.
